I am Md. Kaoser Bin Siddique working as a Manager at Research, Evaluation & Development (RED) Department of Lion Mukhlesur Rahman Foundation (LMRF)& also acting as Project Coordinator of GramHealth LMRF Portable Health Clinic Project (GLPCP). Basically I am a physiotherapist & my professional journey began in early 2012 as a Ponseti Practitioner Cum Junior Project Officer at Zero Clubfoot Project of LMRF.
I became the proud member of this family after final selection & securing first position in HR selection process of LMRF which was a bit difficult & lengthy process e.g. first oral exam,then 04 primarily selected candidates send to Walk for Life, Dhaka Clinics: Dhaka Medical College Hospital , Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) & National Institute of Trauma &Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) for one month long clinical & project management related training , then again oral & final practical exam which was taken by Dr. Shamim Khan, Executive Director (ED) himself & held at LMRF Head Office in Chittagong.
My work station was in Comilla Medical College Hospital, B. Baria District Hospital & Chandpur District Hospital. The work experience was an excellent and amazing. “It was really unexpressionable to describe my feelings when I see the corrected foot & smiling faces of ill-fated children and their parents which cured by me and my colleagues”. I really feel very happy& proud when I found that my profession helps to encourage & enable people to lead a full & productive.
As I always crave for new knowledge and have interest in research & development, I published several scientific articles on Clubfoot, Juvenile delinquency, Excess utilization of Diabetic patients, & Health seeking behavior of community people which published on different National & International Journals. Also, during my work; I simultaneously completed Post-Graduation Diploma (PGDDM) in Disaster Management &MSS in Clinical Social Work from University of Dhaka in 2012 & 2013 respectively. In addition, I applied to many national & international universities for my further studies with scholarship and thanks to almighty Allah that I was selected for USAID Scholarship, Next Generation Public Health Expert Scholarship (NGPHES) which was full funded scholarship for pursuing Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2013-2014 at James P. Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) which is renown public health school in the world.
After completing my post-graduation again I came back to LMRF in 2015 as Manger-RED. Now, my utmost interest is in translating research into development action and I have already started several research & development projects e.g. community survey, GLPCP, sustainable clubfoot project etc. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that I have recently published a research paper entitled: “Socioeconomic Status & Health Seeking Behavior of Rural People: A Cross Sectional Study in Fatikchhari, Chittagong” on MedCrave Online Journal of Public Health, USA. This has become possible only for Dr. Shamim Khan, ED of LMRF whose endless innovative ideas, hardworking capability, continues inspiration, friendly work environment and relentless support always encourage me to work for shaping up tomorrow
