Child’s sufferings overwhelmed their parents:
Though the situation is improving gradually, but still deformities are treated as parent’s fault rather than genetic issue in the society and that prejudice attitude physiologically pressurize on parents having child with deformity. Moreover, parents are facing with various problems of their physically challenged child. “My tears used to roll down every single time whenever I fed her” -----as narrated Aziba’s Mother. Little angel Aziba was born with Cleft lip and palate who got surgery from LMRF Children’s Hospital on last August under CureCleft of LMRF. Aziba is their first baby and they were very anxious and worried about the feeding and other difficulties and they were in an insane about what they should do or where to go for treatment or surgery. They visited different clinics in Chittagong for treatment but did not feel confident to go for surgery. Moreover, some clinics were demanding higher charges beyond their capability. As her father said when first came at the camp, “we were so anxious about what to do. We found some options but did not feel confident for the surgery. Suddenly I saw a poster with a picture of Cleft baby as like as my baby of LMRF & smile Train at MOMOTA clinic Chittagong. As CC is doing good surgeries for a long time I got the confidence and came to enroll for surgery.” Before, the surgery, LMRF representative Mr. Rohmat visited Aziba's home and provided different Breastfeeding videos and others awareness materials which guided them about the process of taking care of a cleft baby. Aziba's Parents are so happy with the accomplishment and expressed gratitude to team LMRF. “LMRF has appeared to us as light in the dark midnight, thank you LMRF!” as shared Aziba’s Mom.
